Novan Coklat was born as Novan Dian Santoso in Blitar, East Java. In his teenager years he joined an amateur stunt club at Wlingi. There he learned film combat choreography and some basic skill in independent filmmaking. From being stuntman later he shifted into camera department and also acting. Short films he starred had got some awards at local festivals. He also has a passion in photography and documentary filmmaking. Novan Coklat has been married and live in Blitar.
