Yoichi Sato is a professor at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, Japan. His research area is computer vision, and much of his work is related to first person vision, gaze sensing and analysis, physics-based vision, and illumination and reflectance modeling. His research group is working in close collaboration with Associate Professor Yusuke Sugano's group (Computer Vision Group). He received his Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Tokyo in 1990, and his Master's and Doctoral degrees in robotics from the Carnegie Mellon University in 1993 and 1997, respectively.
