Eva Randhawa a.k.a Jyoti Randhawa a.k.a Yvez, is a Scottish-Indian actress, born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. She is first generation Indian. Her parents immigrated to the UK in 1977 individually to be with their own families and eventually were introduced to each other via a mutual friend and later on, they married. In 1991, Eva began performing in school plays and musicals and took L.A.M.D.A examinations in Public Speaking, Oral Communication and Drama - as part of her extra-curricular activities. She took music lessons, tried to learn Violin but packed it in after a few lessons as she thought the lessons were too boring. Thereafter, she took singing lessons and self-admittedly, "became a wannabe singer who would best sing in the shower". In 2000, Eva studied a joint honours degree in Biochemistry & Pharmacology at the University of Strathclyde. She worked at a clinical-trials company for a short time before she found one of her dream opportunities of working at the BBC in Glasgow, where she spent approximately 7 years working in the broadcasting industry. She has worked at BBC Scotland and BBC London as a continuity announcer, and prior to this she worked in TV & Radio broadcasting at BBC Scotland as a production coordinator, broadcast scheduler, newsroom assistant and auto-cue operator, amongst other job positions. Eva is a trained Voice Artist who has voiced children's narrations and corporate presentations. She has presented/hosted a variety of both private public, as well as political events. In her local city of Glasgow she hosted the Scottish Ethnic Minority Achievement Awards for 6 years in a row. In 2014, she hosted a rally for the 'Better Together' campaign with ex-Prime Minister Gordon Brown, advocating Scotland continuing to be part of the United Kingdom. She possesses a native Scottish accent and has trained at LAMDA, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Michael Howard Studios (NY) and The Fitzmaurice Institute (NY). She speaks fluent Punjabi and Hindi and basic Spanish and Italian. She frequently rides horses and keeps highly active via gym activities and kick-boxing. Her favorite music is old skool (80's & 90's) R&B and Hip-Hop.
