Álvaro Robles is a Spanish screenwriter and director. He has written and directed the short films "Mara, Maravillas" (2017) and "Si no puedes" (2019). His latest work, "Umbrellas" (2020), is an animated short film currently selected in more than 70 international festivals. Umbrellas has been part of events such as Festival International du Court Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand, Festival du nouveau cinéma de Montréal or Uppsala Short Film Festival. During its distribution, Umbrellas has garnered various awards, such as the Parents Choice Award at the Chicago Children's Film Festival or the Audience Award at the Toronto Animation Arts Festival International. Recently, "Umbrellas" has been acquired by the Spanish VOD platform Movistar+ to be added to its catalog. Currently, Álvaro Robles is developing various projects. Among them, two feature film scripts and his next short film: "Lo siento", written together with Enric Rufas, experienced scriptwriter for films such as "La soledad" or "Hermosa Juventud".
