Navera Aaliyah Johari was born in Cairo, Egypt on May 28, 2001. Her family moved to Melbourne, Australia in November of 2002, where they underwent their primary and secondary education. She was raised alongside her older brother until age 6, 7 & 8 where there were new additions to family with three younger brothers. Coming from a non-English background, Ari had very few opportunities to be surrounded by the English language with her family speaking Arabic at home, she turned to television as an immersive means and soon found themselves mimicking programs and advertisements to get in some practice and gain confidence in speaking. They soon found comfort in their ability to speak and began jumping between the two languages more smoothly. From a young age, they have been fascinated by the world of story-telling in every medium, from books, to film & television, and even watching her parents with their friends telling stories. She found herself wanting a more full and immersive experience, and every time the opportunity presented itself, they would participate in school productions, Easter pageants, and performances, and before long, began to build confidence in themselves and their ability to take on the profession. She began her career after landing a spot in The 2019 Celebrity Experience Awards Live from Universal Studios television special, where she was able to work with and gain some perspective and insight from other actors she had watched growing up, such as Bella Thorne, Adrian R'Mante, James Maslow, Daniel Curtis Lee, and many others. With that experience under her belt, she returned back home with to Australia to continue to study and grow as an actor. Ari makes active effort to grow and progress as an individual sentient being in the world, and hopes to grow their field of knowledge and experience within the industry and it's storytelling medium.
