Kenya Okubo

Born in 1995 and raised in Osaka. When he was a junior high school, he was shocked to watch "Avatar" and aspired to be a movie director. After dropping out of the Faculty of Arts and Letters at Kindai University, he continued to produce independent films regardless of genre while working on music videos for indie idols as a freelance filmmaker. And in 2020, the first feature film "Cosmetic DNA" won the Hokkaido Governor's Award at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. In 2021, he completed the new feature film "Reiwa vs. I", which depicts the conflict of underground manzai masters. The film was exhibited at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival 2021 and was nominated for the second consecutive year.
