Herbert Leota

Herbert Leota was born in Apia, Samoa and is an Australian writer and director hailing from Blacktown, Sydney. He is known for writing and directing Neverland(2022) and producing videos for some of Sydney's biggest hip-hop and r&b acts. Herbert is an experienced artist, having exhibited black ink illustrations in Sydney before delving into filmmaking. Herbert completed his Bachelor of Media Arts at UNSW Art & Design, where during his honors year, he produced, directed and wrote a short film titled Westies. This would lay the foundations for his first feature film, Neverland, which would share similar themes, tone and setting in Western and wider Sydney.
