Rae Piper is a vibrant and skilled actress, dancer, aerialist, choreographer and film producer. Piper is the Director of Whoever You Are Productions and co-Artistic Director of the contemporary ballet company Chantry Dance alongside her choreographic partner Paul Chantry. Her work includes producing and starring in the award-winning 2021 short film 'Whoever You Are' directed by Javier De Frutos (awards include Best Producer, Best Experimental, Best Indie Short - Vegas Movie Awards). Piper and Chantry are also know for choreographing the Olivier-nominated West End production of David Walliams' Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy, an anniversary commission for the Prince of Belgium, Opera, Theatre, Musicals and more. Piper's performance career encompasses appearing in musicals in London's West End, Opera at the Royal Opera House, contemporary work at Sadler's Wells, production shows on cruise ships, cabaret and Cirque work in the UK's most notable cabaret clubs such as Café de Paris, film, corporate work and touring contemporary ballet. Originally born in Bristol, UK, Piper attended Badminton School before gaining a place at Cambridge University to read Classics. After declining this offer in favor of entering the theatre industry, Piper pursued a university education later in life and read Sport & Exercise Sciences at Birmingham University where she gained a 1st Class Honours degree and was also the Chancellor's Award winner. Piper trained in acting, dance and circus skills with a variety of teachers, including Gail Gordon, who is also Piper's mother. Piper draws on her varied background to bring a unique level of artistry and innovation to her work. She creates work that is compelling and engaging, and her artistic vision enables her to bring life to stories through her powerful use of various expressive mediums.
