J.B. Biunno

J.B. is an award-winning reporter and multi-media journalist working for WFLA News Channel 8 since August 2018. Though J.B. appears on television in NewsChannel 8's evening newscasts, he's more commonly seen on WFLA Now, a digitally-exclusive news streaming platform he designed and built for Florida news. Prior to WFLA, J.B. worked for WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama (February 2014-July 2018). In four years, he was recognized as "Alabama Reporter of the Year" four times, setting the state record. Among his many stories on the Gulf Coast, J.B. boarded a 12-hour Hurricane Hunters flight into the eye of Hurricane Irma a few hours before the monstrous storm reached Tampa Bay. On the tech beat, J.B.'s series such as "Digital Dangers" and "Smartphone Savings" earned a multitude of awards from different broadcast organizations in the southeastern United States. Before his years on the Gulf Coast, J.B. was an anchor on WENY-TV in upstate Elmira, New York (2011-2012) and worked as a Bureau Chief in Delaware for WBOC (2013). J.B. is and alumnus of the University at Albany (SUNY) and is originally from East Meadow, New York. He lives in Tampa with his wife, Devon Coffaro.
