Born in Piatra Neamt, Romania, on the 28th of April, 1960, Cristian has graduated primary school and high school in Piatra, where he made his first appearance on stage acting as "Rica Venturiano" in Ioan Luca Caragiale's play "A Stormy Night", while also being a vocalist in the local high school band. Showing further fascination for the world of Theater, he joined the acting popular school of Youth's Theater in Piatra Neamt. In college, he joined the humorists acting band "Divertis", one of the emblematic dissident student show performers during the so called "Golden Era" of the Nicolae Ceausescu regime. After 1990, he began his career in Romanian Television as a producer until 1994, after which he became a freelancer and continued to act as part of the "Divertis" group which ended up growing a huge audience on various television channels in Romania during the next 10 years, taking part in various comedy shows, such as "Divertis Martishow", "Divertis Mall","Animat Planet Show" and "Divertis Land Of Jokes". He became famous while performing with "Divertis" for his signature impersonation of the first Romanian president following Ceausescu's fall, Ion Iliescu. In December 2018, he collaborated with director and screenwriter Mike Davis, being cast as "Ion Iliescu" in his short film "Poison Child". Cristian has been married since 1993 with Cerasella Craciun, with which he has one son.
