Umberto Baldacci was born in San Marino. He studied film directing first at Fine Arts Academy in Bologna, Italy and then at Screen Academy Scotland in Edinburgh. His main inspirations come from new waves of French and American cinema but also modern European cinema. Themes he explored with his films are human relationships, family issues, love but also obsession, grief and alienation.
