Luqman Akanni Shopeyin

Luqman Akanni Shopeyin, professionally known as Lite E Rex, is an American Host, Actor and Producer. Hailing from the infamous Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn NY. Lite was brought up in a two parent household with two brothers. The product of a Nigerian father and American mother, Lite had the edge of having a dual cultural identity. While growing up wasn't a walk in the park especially as tenants in the NYC low income housing community, Lite and his siblings had fun childhoods and they learned how to enjoy life which would ultimately become one of his greatest assets. After attending public school, Lite attended Norfolk State University where he thrived and was introduced to his acting skills. Initially, acting was simply a way to prevent him from getting into trouble. Originally not taking it too seriously, Lite auditioned for the role of a clown but after auditioning, he was given the parts of a Duke of Venice, and Ludovico in Othello. Once people started telling him he was a natural, he started taking the craft seriously. Unfortunately after 3 years he was forced to return home after tuition assistance dried up. Unwilling to be defeated, Lite would continue to seek out other acting opportunities which would ultimately lead to him starring in Award winning film " In Vein", indie cult classic "Foster Sin", indie film "Gimme The Loot" and "2 Wrongz". Not one to be satisfied with the bare minimum, Lite also tried his hands at some behind the scenes work earning him a production assistant award for his work off screen with "Foster Sin". In 2001, Lite became the official road manager for all artist under the Duckdown music label. Lite credits his late father's work habits and overall desire to see the best in him for his own need to make sure he takes care of his own family the same way. In addition to acting, and managing artist on the road, Lite established his own Podcast titled "What It Look Lite" which is a play on words using his childhood nickname and now stage name. Lite believes that everyone should have the opportunity to have a platform to showcase their talent with no strings attached and so he branded and created "What It Look Lite" which is streaming on all major platforms and can be listened to live every Friday from 8pm-10pm. While it may seem like a lot, Lite still has many goals which includes becoming a successful radio-show host and a well rounded actor with memorable parts. One of his biggest accomplishments to date has been touring the world with legendary artist and working with Buckshot and Dru Ha. When asked how he handles wearing so many hats he replied "My energy is a unique feature about me, I'm always positive and happy and I always wish the best for others , I'm kindhearted, friendly and strong willed, I'm a take charge kind of guy, I can prevail in almost any difficult situation. I'm a quick thinker and can adjust rapidly". When he does have some down time you can almost always catch Lite working his brain via a game of chess or catch him playing video games preferably Xbox.
