Marcus Oborn is an Australian actor, voice actor, voice and text coach, and theatre director and producer. He trained formally as an actor at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, and has gone on to study under the guidance of legendary Hollywood acting coach Larry Moss, British theatre stalwart Mike Alfreds, and world authority on actors voices Patsy Rodenburg OBE. Marcus Oborn is a Patsy Rodenburg Associate, having trained with Patsy Rodenburg OBE, the world authority on actors' voices, since 2018. Completing his training in 2022, Marcus is now one of only fifty certified practitioners globally, and the second ever certified Associate in Australia. Marcus has lectured in voice and run independent voice training programs since 2017, for corporate and artistic clients and companies. Marcus is an Australia Council for the Arts funding recipient through the Individuals Fund, which supported his training. He has appeared as an actor in film, television and stage productions for Disney, NBC, Seven Bucks, Mooriver TV, Opera Queensland, BrisFringe, The Queensland Music Festival, Big Scary Animal, Fringe Brisbane, Room to Play, Playlab, The Hive Collective and Empire Theatres. As a voice actor, he has voiced national and international campaigns for companies including Dairy Farmers, PPQ, Swyftx, TMGM, FijiKAVA, ABSC International, Master Builders Queensland, Warner Bros Movie World and Village Roadshow. In addition to his work as an actor, Marcus has lectured in voice and Shakespeare in tertiary and independent actor training programs since 2017. He has also directed and produced a string of successful theatre productions, including MOTH by Declan Greene which was described by audiences as "nothing short of phenomenal", the Australian premiere of Buckets by Adam Barnard, a sold out run of The Crucible by Arthur Miller, Oedipus by Sophocles, and the Mercy Seat by Neil LaBute.
