Julie studied improvisation with the Upright Citizens Brigade before coming to Los Angeles to do stand-up. She was featured as a young mom in commercials and television years before actually becoming a young mom. Before getting involved in comedy, she was devoted to the idea of weird, experimental downtown NY theater and appeared as a "dwarf" in a Richard Foreman play. She recently earned her MFA in screen writing from UCLA.
