John Spear, Producer/Writer/Director At an early age John was singled out from Vincent Chase's acting workshop in Los Angeles to co-star with legendary Gilbert Roland in the children's classic "The Black Pearl" written by Scott O'dell and directed/produced by Saul Swimmer and Broad Talbot ("The Concert for Banghla Desh", "Let It Be"). The film was shot in Spain where john landed a leading role with female Co-star Veronica Miriel in "Vivir a Mil" Europe's answer to Coppola's "The Outsiders". While in Europe, John worked on a number of films, (10) among them "The Hit", participating actively in various aspects of film-making, both on the creative and technical fields. Upon returning to the United States John headed back to Los Angeles, focusing on directing and was involved in several projects: "Lovely but Deadly", "California Dolls" and "Chained Heat" for Red Fox Studios. Subsequently, in the United States John is also been instrumental in the development of film projects such as "White Heat", "The Sixth Game" and "The Turn" which he co-wrote with renown Catalan writer Miguel Cuso. SPI Films is Producing a slate of films: The Action-adventure "Rise Of The Super-Soldier: The New Blood" Completed Screenplay.(Pre-Production) The Sci-Fi Thriller "Reptilian Gate" Completed Screenplay. Pending Director "The seven sons of... Primitivo". A western which among other names stars the legendary Italian cult star Tomas Milian. The original story by Milian was drafted by Lina Wertmuller and developed by John. SPI holds the rights to the work.
