Kristin Carey (Kristyn Carey) - Born in Pasadena and raised in Northern California, Carey began her career in the Entertainment Industry as an actor while in middle school. After graduating with a degree in Communications from San Francisco State, Carey went on to co-own Trackmagic, a racing go-kart manufacturing company, where she discovered a penchant for entrepreneur-ism. After selling her company in 2008, Carey freelance wrote for numerous Bay Area publications before returning to L.A. to pursue a career in entertainment, forming her own production company and creating a handful of independent projects, which are currently in development. In 2010 Carey moved back to Los Angeles where she reconnected with her childhood acting coach, John Homa and began auditioning, securing representation and booking small roles in commercials and film, most notably alongside Scott Krinsky (Chuck) in the comedic short Tandem. Carey was also accepted to the Groundlings Professional School, where she honed her Improv skills. Turning her professional focus behind the camera, Carey quickly landed a coveted internship for Laurence Mark Productions (Jerry McGuire, As Good As It Gets; Sony lot) doing script coverage before moving to Wolf Films (Dick Wolf, Law & Order; NBC/Universal) as a post-production PA. Within 5 months Carey moved out of post and became a writer's PA before being promoted to her current position of Executive Assistant to Michael Brandt, co-creator of the prime time drama Chicago Fire, where she is actively involved in the writing and creative process of network television.
