Steve Cawood

Born in Leeds, the eldest son of Colin and Pat Cawood, he grew up in Bradford, West Yorkshire. He attended Bingley Grammar School from 1970 to 1977 before joining the Fire Brigade in 1978. Steve always had an interest in the science of fires, explosions and weaponry and a chance encounter with an armourer, whilst working as a supporting artist, led him in a new direction. Steve has since worked as a freelance armourer for Armoury In Action and as a freelance SFX technician for Quicksilver SFX, Future Effects and Any Effects; mainly on television but with the occasional foray into features. Steve is married to Julie and has two daughters, Nicola and Helen, from his first marriage and a step-daughter, Laura-May.
