Bruna Capozzoli, born in Sao Paulo in 1987, is an Italian Brazilian Actress, Filmmaker and Scriptwriter based in London. At the age of thirteen, she started her first drama course at Macunaíma Theatre School, where she gained an Acting Diploma. At this period, she begun to investigate the connections in between theatre and dance, a research that she deepen while performing at the Dance Theatre Company Artesãos do Corpo in Sao Paulo. One year later, she was accepted into one of the most important acting courses in Brazil, the Bachelors Degree in Performing Arts at Universidade Estadual de Campinas Unicamp, which she concluded after four years. This full time acting program included related disciplines such as dance, fight, circus and singing techniques. From 2002 until 2008 Bruna performed as an actress within more than ten professional plays. At the end of the university, Bruna had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge in eutony and contemporary dance within the Núcleo Experimental de Artes Cênicas. Her interest and passion for cinema started in 2009 during a Method Acting and Directing Course attended at the Stanislavski Institute in Sao Paulo, where she graduated as a director. This experience led her to a Digital Cinema Course at the Latin American Film Institute, concluded in 2010. In the same year, Bruna launched her first short film "Luz" ("Light") with the role of director and scriptwriter. Selected in festivals in Brazil and Europe the short opened the door to her career as a filmmaker. In 2013, Bruna attended a MA in Filmmaking at Goldsmiths University of London obtaining one of the four director positions available. By the time of her graduation in January 2014 she directed the short film "Sisters" and she wrote and directed the shorts "Alive in Time" and "Mamo".
