Rowan Thane was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. At 4 weeks of age, he moved with his parents to Mauritius. 3 years later, he and his family moved to Hong Kong. Rowan went to an English international school in Hong Kong. He attended high school in South Africa for 4 years and then returned to Hong Kong, where he completed his high school education at an Australian international school. This is where his "Thespian" ability came to the fore. He starred in a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Twelfth Night" playing the role of the court jester "Festi", where he wowed the audience and surprised both himself and his parents. Once Rowan was finished with his High School education, he moved on to becoming a circus instructor at The K.E.L.Y Support Group (Kids Everywhere Like You). Teaching a variety of age groups peer support and giving them new abilities which would allow them to cope with certain situations. After K.E.L.Y, Rowan went back to the Australian High School and applied for the position of "Phyiscal Education Teacher's Assistant".(2007) In 2008, Rowan left for Cape Town, South Africa to pursue his acting career. He studied at AFDA Cape Town (The South African School of Motion Picture Medium and Live Performance Cape Town). Where he studied a number of subjects, such as; Stop-Motion Animation, Costume, Make-up & Styling and Acting for Film. Rowan majored in acting and graduated in 2010 with a BA in Live Performance. Rowan lives in Cape Town, South Africa.
