A native of Sumter, South Carolina, Terverius "T. Black" Black was born in 1975 and is in every way a son of the south. Music helped shape every aspect of his early childhood and as a movie director, music producer and music video director, T. Black always "brings the rhythm" to every project he leads. Whether he is telling a story in song or through the written word, his rare talent for listening and creating unique pictures of what he hears is conveyed as only he can share it. By the time he was attending high school, his smooth-flowing, lyrical delivery of even the most casual conversation made him stand out and become a popular fixture in school. Soon after high school, T. Black attended Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL, (1994) a school long known for its rich musical heritage. He quickly became known as the go-to guy for the newest Gospel music tracks and he would often make remixes in his spare time. As he thrived musically at Oakwood and expanded his love for music, his classmates took notice. He was well positioned to become one of the celebrated alumnae who contribute to the school's music legacy, including film composer and record producer Mervyn Warren, acapella group Take 6, the talented female gospel music trio Virtue and acapella group Committed, winners of NBC's television singing competition, "The Sing Off" (2010). Not long after graduating from Oakwood (1999), T. Black entered the professional Gospel music industry and was fortunate to work in stage production for leading Gospel music artists and organizations including Yolanda Adams, Fred Hammond and the Gospel Music Workshop of America. His talents and tenacity were immediately noticed and the skills he learned, as well as his keen instincts, allowed him to transition into a career as a gospel music video director. He has created many buzz-worthy videos for independent gospel artists, including powerhouse vocalist Sean Simmonds. His success as a director and his exceptional ability to discover new talent evolved and he eventually created and became the CEO of XIST Worldwide (2008), which develops Gospel music artists and produces recording projects and positive, family friendly films. In 2009, T. Black decided he wanted to take his story telling abilities outside of the realm of the three minute music video by trying his hand at directing longer stories. He wanted to create films that would celebrate his first love-music-as an unnamed character in every scene, while telling stories about staying true to one's self. He sat down and wrote his first feature film, STAND (2010), in just two weeks. As a result of the stellar reputation he'd gained as a savvy professional, he quickly secured financing for the film and the soundtrack, and began building his team. STAND was shot in 2010 and scheduled for release in 2011. T. Black's second film project begins shooting in 2011. T. Black currently resides in Huntsville, AL with his loving wife and daughter who contribute each day to the soundtrack of his life.
