“Filming here in Santa Fe opens the possibility of a federal cinema”. Arturo Castro Godoy is a Venezuelan-born screenwriter and film director who moved to Santa Fe, Argentina at a very young age. Interested in writing and books, he studied Literature and later found in cinema a means of expression. He studied filmmaking at Fernando Birri's Instituto Superior de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (ISCAA). He debuted in 2008 with the film Trombón, and since then he has not stopped directing. His films, El silencio (2016), Aire (2018) and Rinoceronte (2022) have received numerous national and international awards. In addition to being a filmmaker, he is a teacher and stresses the importance of opening new possibilities for a more diverse and regional cinema.
