Ellen Boscov is a multidisciplinary artist: actor, composer, and writer. As an actor, Ellen has worked in numerous indie films. She had the pleasure of acting with Joseph R. Gannascoli in the feature film, King Lahiri, directed by Christopher Picone. She is looking forward to performing a lead role in the feature film "We Don't Dance No More" directed by Todd Verow (2021), and acting in "Sunspot" directed by Brian Mihok (2021). Ellen has also enjoyed acting in theater, and performing improv comedy in many venues. Ellen was an actor in Philly Improv Theater's sketch comedy house team, Baby Science. Ellen wrote the screenplay, lyrics, and composed the original score for First Light (2020). This short animated musical fantasy directed by Amy Lee Ketchum won Best Animation in 2021 New Jersey International Film Festival. It was also a 2021 award winner at the Academy Award®-qualifying Ann Arbor Film Festival. Although "First Light" has already won Best Animation and Best Score from Mediterranean Film Festival Cannes 2020 and an Animation Award from American Filmatic Arts Awards 2020, it did not screen at these festivals due to Covid-19 safety precautions. "First Light" features the vocals of mezzo-soprano Maren Montalbano, and soprano Jessica Beebe, vocalists in Grammy®Award-winning ensembles. Ellen also wrote the screenplay, lyrics, and composed music for "Green Tree". This short musical film, directed by Carla Dauden, was immediately very popular online; receiving hundreds of thousands of views. As a playwright, Ellen has had the good fortune of working with Rachel Bay Jones who starred in her full length drama, Roses on the Rocks, produced by Manhattan Theatre Source in New York City in 2009. Ellen has also had plays produced at The Marsh Theater and Cable Car Theatre in San Francisco CA, and at The Theatre Shoppe in Chicago, IL.
