Laura Bratherton

Laura's relationship with the performing arts started at the age of 7. In Lithuania, her country of origin, she was in a children's pop group and attended Vytautaus Mikalauska's School of Arts for 4 years where she learned the piano as well as other musical skills. In 2002, Laura went to Kaunas University of Technology where she studied business administration. She moved to the UK in the summer of 2003 and settled in Birmingham, where she improved her English. Laura decided to expand her artistic studies and in 2005, she enrolled in Sandwell College where she obtained the BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Drama). This intense two year course not only introduced Laura to the best national playwrights but it also gave her the opportunity to perform on stage (Phoebe, AS YOU LIKE IT), and conquer her stage fright for good. In October 2008, Laura moved to London and studied TV and film acting at the International School of Screen Acting in 3 Mills Studios. This high impact one-year course gave Laura essential skills in screen acting as well as behind the scenes work such as writing and producing. Laura graduated in July 2009 and instantly set to work on finding the best way to combine her business knowledge with her theatre and film skills. She realised how important exposure was within the industry and the I Am an Actor concept was created. Their first project being Schizophrenia and Me and Me (2011) written and directed by Howy Bratherton. Laura continues to work hard to expand I Am an Actor, with the production of new films and events, while working in front of the camera as an actress.
