Lee Hawkins is a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal and the host of "The Business of Celebrity with Lee Hawkins," which appears on the WSJ Live network, WSJ.com and the WSJ's YouTube channel. A multi-platform journalist, Mr. Hawkins also writes stories for the print edition of the Wall Street Journal, based mainly on his WSJ celebrity coverage. He also represents the WSJ often on many programs, including entertainment shows such as "The Insider" and on the Fox Network. He also has been a WSJ contributor to CNBC, where he hosted the highly-rated one-hour documentary, "NEWBOs: The Rise of America's New Black Overclass." Mr. Hawkins previously covered General Motors Co. from the Journal's Detroit bureau. Before reporting on GM and the challenges facing America's "Big Three" automakers, he worked as a business reporter for the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and the Wisconsin State Journal. He has covered a wide range of industries during his career, including electric and telecommunications utilities, manufacturing, technology and minority-owned businesses. Mr. Hawkins holds a Bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was editorial page editor of the Badger Herald student newspaper. He is a member of the UW-Madison board of visitors for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
