Stephen P. Sherwood is an award winning writer, director and editor. He directs the Southern Screenwriters Guild, which meets twice monthly in Atlanta, and has written a three-part sci-fi/fantasy mini-series, several features and many short film scripts. He has Produced some of his short scripts, all of which have been featured in multiple festivals and have won numerous awards. His science fiction feature "Quantum Soul" and sci-fi short "Common Foe" are in development along with other feature screenplays. He has also worked in the film industry as a 24 Frame Video Playback Supervisor on several feature films and TV series. Additionally, he is the Founder & Festival Director of the Southern Shorts Awards Film Festival, which is listed in Film Freeway's Top 100 Best Reviewed film festivals world wide. Buying his first Super 8 camera in his teens, he produced short films in college then went on to join the US Navy where he trained as a Broadcast Journalist. Assigned as one of the Navy's eleven TV & Motion Picture Scriptwriters at the Combat Camera Group in San Diego, he received numerous awards for his work. He trained in screenwriting at the American Film Institute in Hollywood and the University of Southern California at San Diego. He left the Navy to work for a Japanese production company (One Inch Video Productions) in Burbank, then took a job producing training videos for ARAMCO, the world's largest oil company, in Saudi Arabia. After returning to the US, he worked at an advertising agency, then spent another three years back in Saudi Arabia, finally moving on to an interactive multimedia company in Miami. He resides in Roswell, Georgia where he makes films through his company, Bright Forest Productions LLC.
