David Mace was born in Miami Florida to William and Phyllis Mace, he is the second of 5 children. His family moved to Houston in 1971 when his father took a job there. He graduated from MacArthur High School in 1978 and married his high school sweetheart, Donna Brintle in 1979. He had 2 children, Timothy and Bryan. He began Volunteering with the Aldine Volunteer Fire Dept. in 1980 and moved up through the ranks over the years. In 1994 they began to film part of the film "Someone Special" in Aldine's fire district and asked to use the fire trucks for the house fire scene. When the director met with David, he was very impressed with his voice and offered him the part of Fire Chief in the film. Once the film was complete, he was known as "Hollywood" to all his friends and family. David has never appeared in any other film, has since retired from the Fire Dept and still lives in Texas just outside of Houston.
