Award winning author, actor, and sometimes recording artist Phillip Nelson was born in Durant Oklahoma and spent most of his childhood in the countryside of Oklahoma and Texas. The son of a carpenter, he started singing and writing in the church at a very young age. The family moved to Oklahoma in the late 90s where Phillip's love for the arts continued. In 2001, Phillip lost his father to cancer, resulting his emancipation at an early age of fifteen. Being brought up in a religious family, Phillip was disowned for his sexual orientation. Having an abusive and absent mother, Phillip provided for his siblings. In 2007, Phillip started a modeling career, which spanned for six years. Since, Phillip has appeared in numerous print campaigns across the globe. His modeling career expanded to working with Calvin Klein, as well as campaigns for the Think Green Recycling and Marriage Equality. He was also a featured model in "Fashion Week" and a model in Kevin Murphy's "The Big Show". It wasn't long until critics took notice of Phillip, resulting the prestigious Male Model of the Year Award from Starlight Productions. In addition to other awards, he also received the coveted Cameleon of the World Award in 2012. Phillip has also sought an interest in acting; whether it is in front of a mirror or on the stage. In 2009, Phillip made his acting debut as supporting actor in Dracula: The Ballet in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While looking for larger roles, Phillip appeared in numerous music videos such as Britney Spears "Work B*tch", Nick Cannon's "If I Die Young", and Benni Cinkle's "Can You See Me Now" - to name a few. Two years later, Phillip broadened his acting career to new levels by landing the lead role in a LGBT series "Human Desires'' (he also wrote 4 of the 13 episodes for season one), which later established his starring role in feature films Ricky and Route 66 Experience. Recently, Phillip agreed to portray the Disney character "Prince Phillip" in a real-life adaption of the movie Sleeping Beauty. Phillip's first book ''Leaf in the Wind", is his memoir based on his philosophical values of life and self-discovery as he reveals the extensive sexual, physical, and emotional abuse he has overcome. Phillip wanted to share his life experiences with others who may identify with an abusive background. It is his desire to inspire those who have experienced such difficulties to become survivors, not victims. During the creative process of his book, Phillip recorded two full length studio albums and an EP. In 2013, his first studio album Winter Wonderland earned him numerous accolades while being certified double platinum in Australia. In 2014, Phillip returned with A Moment in Time, his long-awaited first non-holiday studio album. The track "Feel" became Phillip's first #1 hit, topping the Independent Artists charts. He also received nominations at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, winning best music video for the P.A.I.N. Foundation and the Barebones Film Festival. He released his third studio album, Blue Jeans, Fall 2014. Amongst his endeavors, Phillip has donated his time through philanthropy work for many organizations. In 2010, Phillip began his charity organization titled, Share a Little Love. His organization educates awareness for: The Nature Conservancy, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, The Trevor Project, The Humane Society of the United States, and RAINN (Rape Abuse, and Incest National Network). To expand to the mass market, he spreads the knowledge of each charity through word of mouth, actions, rallies, and public service announcements. Phillip plans to launch his organization's first building in the near future. He plans to dedicate the building process in remembrance of his late fiancé, Russell Winnigston.
