Kelechi Ezie is an actress, singer, and writer most known for her work on The Deuce, Book of Mormon, and The Truth About Beauty and Blogs, an official selection of Roger Ebert's Film Festival. The daughter of a Nigerian father and an American mother, Kelechi's performing arts career started early in her hometown of Buffalo, NY. As a little girl she competed and won piano, speaking and essay writing competitions. A classically trained singer, Kelechi competed in statewide and national singing competitions as well. Kelechi received a degree from Princeton University, graduating cum laude in History with certificates in Theatre & Dance and African American Studies. Upon graduated Kelechi received Princeton's Walter Phelps Hall Prize in European History, for her original thesis on Africans in Shakespearean England. After college she moved to NYC and began performing in regional theatre, Off Off Broadway premieres right away. Kelechi wrote, co-produced and starred in award-winning short film The Truth About Beauty and Blogs, an official selection of Ebertfest.
