Kinda Alloush Kinda Alloush is a Cairo-based Syrian actress who has made her foray into acting by starring in Syrian dramas that have been widespread and successful across the Arab world at that time. However, Kinda's talent and ambition have enabled her to make her way through the Egyptian TV and film industry to establish a prominent name throughout the whole Arab world after that. She has an extensive repertoire of notable works with significant directors across the Arab world, including Chaouki Mejeri, Haitham Hakki, Sherif Arafa, Hatem Ali, Khaled Marei, Mohamed Yassin, and Marwan Hamed. Kinda graduated from the Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in Damascus, where she studied Theater Criticism. She also studied French literature and made a brief foray into the theatrical direction as an assistant director before she turned to acting in 2005. Her acting debut was in a TV drama called ASHWAK NAAEIMA (2005), followed by SHAGHAF and ALZZAHIR BYBRS. In 2006, she starred in AHKAD KHAFEYA TV Series, to be followed in the next year by FAJR AKHAR, SULTANA, ZEL AMRA'A, HASSIBA, HOKM AL ADALA, GONON EL ASR, and ALAIJTIAH tackles the Israeli invasion to the Palestinian cities and villages in 2002. The series is directed by Chaouki Mejeri and received an Emmy Award, marking the first Arab work to receive such an award. In 2007, Kinda made her foray into the film Industry through HADETHA A'LA TAREEQ film by Syrian director Rasha Sharbatgy to star after that in HALAWET ROUH by Syrian director Laila Awad and ALTAJLIA A'AKHIR LI GHAYLAN ALDAMASHQI by Syrian director Haitham Hakki in 2008. The next year, Kinda also took part in MARA OKHRA film by Syrian writer and director Joud Said. Her talent seemed to attract a large number of film auteurs across the Arab world immediately as she took part in several Arab films and TV dramas, where she appeared in the Egyptian TV hit HEDOU' NESBI by late Tunisian director Chaouki Mejeri, starring along with a large number of Arab TV stars in 2009. In the same year, Kinda also starred in the Egyptian blockbuster WELAD EL-AMM by Sherif Arafa. Her long list of notable TV works includes AHL CAIRO (2010), which won her Murex D'Or Award for Best Actress. At the same time, she maintained her presence in the Syrian drama by starring in AL A'SHK EL HARAM (2010) and the two parts of the TV series WILADA MIN ALKHASIRA. In 2012, Kinda settled in Egypt to take part in a number of outstanding TV series; Khaled Marei's NIRAN SADEEKA (2013), for which she won Excellence Award at the Oscar ART in 2013, and AL AHD (EL KALAM EL MOBAH) (2015) along with A'D TANAZOLY (2014), followed by Mohamed Yasine's AFRAH AL QOBA in 2016 and the two TV series HAGAR GOHANAM and AHL AL GHARAM in 2017. Kinda's filmography also includes a plethora of box office hits, including AL-MASLAHA (2012) by director Sandra Nashaat, and the highest-grossing romantic film in the history of Egyptian cinema HEPTA: THE LAST LECTURE (2016) along with other films that screened at international festivals. These films include WAHID SAHEEH (2011) by director Hady Al Bagouri, where she played the role of a Christian girl with an impossible love story, the social comedy film EXCUSE MY FRENCH (2014) by director Amr Salama which sheds the light on the religious differences, and the fantasy film THE ORIGINALS (2017) by Marwan Hamed, as well as other films, like BRTITA , AL-FGOMI (2011), and 33 YOUM (2013). In 2020, Kinda starred in DAI EL AMAR, a TV series that addressed for the first time artificial insemination, which some people may resort to as a means of conceiving a child. DAI EL AMAR which was aired on DMC and Watch It, is part of 6 stories featured in the TV series ELLA ANA. In 2021, she was featured in Shahid original series SITTAT BAYT AL MAADI. Directed by Mohamed Salama and written by Mohamed Ezzat, the series SITTAT BAYT AL MAADI is the Arabic version of the US series WHY WOMEN KILL. Alongside Kinda Alloush, it stars Injy El Mokkaddem, Tara Emad, Sabry Fawaz, Enjy Kiwan, Mirhan Hussein, and Ahmed Wafik, among other guest stars. In 2022, Kinda's film Nezouh by the Syrian director Soudade Kaadan was premiered at Venice International Film Festival where it received the Audience Award. Furthermore, it competed in the 2nd edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival. The star-studded cast of the film includes Samer al Masri, Hala Zein, Darina Al Joundi. The film is about the war in Syria, and it was shot by the well-known director of photography Hélène Louvart. Later in 2022, Kinda starred in Netflix's THE SWIMMERS, which quickly became a hit, ranking first in the list of the Top 10 movies on Netflix in a number of Arab countries, including Egypt, Lebanon, Kuwait, Morocco, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, it came in first in Germany and second in several other European countries, including Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands. THE SWIMMERS had its world premiere at the Cairo International Film Festival and was the opening film at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival. It was also shown at a number of other film festivals, including the BFI London Film Festival, the Marrakesh International Film Festival, and the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival. THE SWIMMERS' success continues to astound everyone, especially after being nominated for a Bafta Award for Outstanding British Film of the Year. THE SWIMMERS, written and directed by Sally El Husseiny, is based on the true story of Yusra and Sara Mardini, Syrian refugee sisters who made it to the Olympics. On a further note, Kinda's upcoming works include YELLOW BUS, a co-production between USA, Mexico, India, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. The film has finished its production process and shall screen exclusively on OSN Network as one of its originals, following its screenings in theaters and international film festivals. YELLOW BUS highlights several human topics, such as motherhood, Identity, Social alienation, and loss, all of which are entangled within a dramatic plot that represents Arab communities in particular, and international ones in general. This was evident in the story of a six-year-old girl who died of heat exhaustion after falling asleep on the school bus without anybody recognizing her. The film stars Kinda Alloush alongside Bollywood Indian star Tannishtha Chatterjee, who won Best Actress Award at a number of international festivals, including the British Independent Film Awards for her role in the British film BRICK LANE, as well as Bollywood star Amit Sial, known for the famous series INSIDE EDGE, that was nominated for the International Emmy Awards in 2018. Besides her remarkable history as an actress, Kinda's works as an assistant director also include a number of distinguished works; Haval Amin's film THE NATIVITY and Nabil al-Maleh's HUNTING PARTY. She also directed the documentary film Fi Mahab Al-Rih which highlights the suffering of Syrian workers in Lebanon. Furthermore, she prepared and assisted in directing the documentary series IGHRAA Speaks about the Syrian star Ighraa. Kinda was selected as a jury member in a number of international film festivals, including the 32nd and 39th Cairo International Film Festival in 2012 and 2017, the Tropfest Arabia Short Film Festival (2012), the Alexandria Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries in 2013, the Freedom Films competition at the Luxor African Film Festival (2018), and the Short Film Competition within El Gouna Film Festival in 2020. On the humanitarian side, Kinda has always been keen on taking part in a lot of initiatives that support refugees from around the globe, especially from Syria. Kinda's support is not limited to the moral one, she is also keen on attending field activities and visiting refugee camps in different areas, the thing that put her name on the High Profile Supporters' list by the UN Commissioner for Refugees.
