Emily Gillespie

Emily Gillespie is an author, interdisciplinary artist, activist and professional daydreamer. Gillespie was born and raised in Welland Ontario by Karen and Jack Gillespie, she has one older sibling. Gillespie studied English and Gender Equality and Social Justice at Nipissing University in North Bay and continued to do an an MA in Critical Disability Studies at York University in Toronto. Her first novel, Dancing with Ghosts was published by Leaping Lion Books in 2017. Her work appears in several anthologies. In 2020 she is working on her second novel and received a grant from the Toronto Arts Council for said project.
