Kate Kugler is a multihyphenate creator and producer dedicated to bringing bold, badly behaved women both to the screen and behind the camera. She wrote, co-directed, and starred in chess thriller J'Adoube (Oaxaca International Film Festival 2019), proving that pawns can be pantydropping long before Queen's Gambit. She wrote, produced, and starred in the dystopian sci-fi series Elysian Fields (winner of the Ron Brown grant). She devised and directed the original play WarPlay at the Herberger Annex in Tempe, Arizona, and directed Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at the Prism Theater. Kate's work as an actor includes roles in Sister Mercy (Fantasia Festival 2019), Intersect (Boston Sci-Fi Fest 2019, currently streaming on Hulu) and Stitched (directed by Garth Ennis with a premiere at San Diego ComicCon). She has a healthy relationship with her dad, and an unhealthy relationship with coffee.
