Fernando Szurman

Passionate about writing and directing stories. Fernando loves fantasy worlds and mythical tales as well as thrillers and suspense.He became a director and producer to get his vivid imagination on screen and share a world of mystery and magic. Argentinian and Polish, graduated in Media Communications at ORT and Philosophy PhD at UBA. He started working in the film industry in 2001 as a casting assistant and developed his career becoming First Assistant Director in 2006. Since then I have been working for major production companies and creative agencies from all around the world. In 2010, started his career as a director and screenwriter with a 13 episode fiction TV series: "ECOS" for the Argentinian National TV, after which followed «Anthem Landscapes», a documentary series for Encuentro channel In 2015 he started directing and producing commercials and in 2016 he also started working as a VFX Producer, specializing in Live Action shooting for VFX. Nowadays he is working as a Content Director and Producer in MEM, the company he Co-Founded with Sebastián Otero. His latest short film Black Water was in Sitges 2019 featured in the COMING SOON section and in the BIFFF 2020 International Short film Official Selection. His feature film Backgammon, has obtained financing by the Argentinian National Film Institute (INCAA), cultural sponsorship of Buenos Aires city and it is going to be shot in Co-production with Brazil and Belgium during 2023. Nowadays, Fernando is working on 2 TV Series Developments with international collaboration.
