Edward Sonnenblick is an American actor, voice artist, host, and comedian based in Mumbai and active primarily in the Indian entertainment industry since 2008. He is well known to Indian audiences for his roles as British colonial characters in period films and series, where he often speaks in fluent Hindi. 2017 was a break-out year for Edward, with leading bad-guy roles in the very serious hit series Bose Dead or Alive opposite Rajkummar Rao and in the very silly film Firangi opposite Kapil Sharma. The same year also saw him as a troubled Cricketer in Amazon Prime's hit series Inside Edge and surprising audiences as the Hindi speaking host of Epic Channel's travel and culture show Indipedia. In 2018 he showed is nice guy side as an American family man in the hit film Veere di Wedding and in his 2019 films we saw him back to being the not so nice British guy in both Manikarnika with Kangana Ranaut and in Kesari with Akshay Kumar. He was back on the small screen as a cast member of the Kapil Sharma Show's second season, playing the character of Robert Paswan and performing Hindi stand-up comedy. As the pandemic began receding and filming resumed in 2021 he completed filming his main role in S.S. Rajamouli's next film RRR and two Yash Raj Films productions, Maharaj and Tiger 3. He is currently (2021-2022) taking on a main role in Vikramaditya Motwane's web series Stardust and the Tamil film Medhavi starring Arjun Sarja. Edward grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Stirred by the spiritual, culinary, cultural, and cinematic (yes, Bollywood) traditions of the subcontinent, Edward taught himself Hindi and moved to Mumbai in 2008 to seek his fortune as an actor in India. He soon found himself playing a double role of evil British twin brothers in the hit historical TV series, "Jhansi ki Rani," which got him nominated as the best villain for Zee TV that year. His Bollywood dream has continued to unfold over almost a decade and a half in the Indian entertainment business, north and south, and also includes his rise as a leading voice artist in the industry. He lives in Mumbai with his Indian wife and their 9 year old son (2022).
