Nick de Graffenreid was born in Bloemfontein, South Africa in 1986, the son and second child of a U.S. Foreign Service Officer. Nick spent his formative years in South Africa with his parents and, later returned to the U.S. with his mother where he lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina until 1997. While he was growing up, Nick traveled widely both abroad and in the USA that gave him a broad immersion into foreign cultures and languages. After his father retired from the Foreign Service, Nick later Lived in Estonia, Idaho, Texas, Washington State, and Kentucky. These many varied living situations and cross cultural experiences have helped him move confidently and easily into his characters and provide them with more depth and complexity than expected. On a personal note, he has always been encouraged to excel. In Washington State, Nick was Captain of his high school soccer team, three year first team all state, and two year league MVP. He also played with Olympic Development Program and Select Soccer teams at the top level with nationally ranked teams growing up. Attending the University of Louisville as a Business Marketing Major, Nick was an officer in the SAE Fraternity and was involved in campus politics, which lead to his interest in acting and the stage. After becoming involved in local theater productions and signing with Heyman Talent Agency, Nick met several Hollywood producers and was strongly encouraged to move to California and take up acting as a career.
