Robin de Zwart is an experienced Canadian actor and budding film director. Born in the Netherlands, Robin moved to the west coast of Canada when he was 3 years old. His love for storytelling inspired him to enter the Tir-na-nOg Theatre School at the age of six, and he hasn't left the stage since! He has been fortunate to portray many wonderful characters, such as the mischievous Peter Pan, the clownish servant Truffaldino in A Servant to Two Masters, romantic lead Tony Kirby in You Can't Take It With You (for which he received a 2016 Joey Award nomination), Antipholus of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors, and Orlando de Bois in As You Like It (for which he received a 2016 Young Entertainer Award nomination). Other theatre credits include The Hobbit (Gandalf/Smaug), Narnia (Uncle Andrew/Peter), Street (Toomey), A Christmas Carol (Young Scrooge), Parfumerie (Arpad Novack), The Snow Queen (Kay) and The Canterville Ghost (Lord Canterville). Robin has also written, directed and produced six of his own plays, and recently founded Coracina Theatre, a theatre production company. Robin has performed in several musicals, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, portraying the eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts, The Secret Garden, in which he played Dickon, and he also joined the cast of a local Broadway revue show, in which he sang pieces from Into The Woods and Falsettos. For his performance as Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Robin received a 2015 Young Artist Award nomination, as well as a 2014 Joey Award nomination. In 2010, Robin ventured into acting in short films, followed by a wonderful opportunity to work with directors Dustin Lance Black and Dee Rees on the acclaimed TV miniseries When We Rise. Robin's enthusiasm for screen acting and keen interest in film studies inspired him to write, film and direct his very first screenplay in 2015: Circular. This lead to the creation of Coracina Films, a family owned film production company. Circular, followed by another Coracina production, Prelude (created for a 96 Hour Youth Film Festival), received a total of 16 international awards and nominations, and both films were accepted in 18 international film festivals. Robin also co-directed Robbers on a Budget, and SIRIal Killer. In addition to acting, singing and filming, Robin enjoys swordplay, computer programming, Morris dancing, strumming the guitar and sailing the Salish Sea.
