Joseph D. Hollabaugh is an actor, filmmaker, film and digital media educator, and television producer from Youngstown, Ohio. After completing his service receiving an honorable discharge in the US NAVY, and getting a bachelors degree at Youngstown State University, he pursued screen-writing and filmmaking, and graduated from Chatham University in 2011 with an Master of Fine Arts degree in Film and Digital Technology. He first began working in professional filmmaking and television production seven years ago. He has worked for Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., Lionsgate Studios, Fox Television, Fremantle Media, and co-produced commercials for Nike, Merrill Lynch, NBC, and Boardman Local Schools Television Network. Hollabaugh has also produced, six independent films shot in Ohio and Pennsylvania which were screened at various film festivals including: The Great Lakes International Film Festival for nomination, The Hollywood Theater, The Strand Theater, The University Film and Video Association Conference in 2011, Women and Film Benefit 2011, and was honored to win the Horror Realm Film Festival Best Short Film of the Year "Creech" Award. He has six years' experience as founder/owner of two successful film production companies, Hollabaugh Films and feedspool media LLC, in which he distributes and produces his own and others films both theatrically and for on-demand video content providers, such as Amazon, iTunes, Vimeo, feedspool.com, and YouTube. Prior to that has worked as a Digital Film Production Educator both as adjunct and full-time instruction for Youngstown State University, Chatham University, Tolles Technical Center, BSTN-TV, and Boardman Local Schools, where he has taught Digital Film Production, Directing, Producing, Videography, Cinematography, Screen-writing, Acting, Sound Design, Production Design, Lighting and Special Effects. He has also acted in eight independent film productions. In 2011, his short film The Light in the Shadows was shown at the 2011 UFVA Conference, nominated by The Great Lakes International Film Festival and won the "Creech Award" best short film, from the Pittsburgh Film workers Association. In 2013, he produced a web series Super-Unemployed Friends and mockumentary comedy about the economy, which was well received and nominated by Youtube viewers for best Geek Week comedy for 2013. In 2015, he completed filming and producing with his new production and distribution company feedspool media LLC, a short-myth blending genre film The Myth from Legends, the end scene is entirely shot on-location after a winter snow storm of 2013, at an actual medieval castle and in the forests of Northeast Ohio.
