Leandro Correa da Silva was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1982. He was the son of Roberto Marques, and I.T. analyst and Marilia Correa, a public employed stenographer. He has an older sister called Liliane Correa and a 14 years old niece, Lais Correa. He always loved movies and comic books, writing his first stage play in primary school, a simple sketch to warn kids from drugs. He also wrote a never published book about a P.I. that had to fight a necromancer and zombies in the Grand Canyon called 'Nick for Hire' during high school. He is also an electronics technician by one of the best public High Schools of Rio, CEFET-RJ. When he graduated a technician, he worked for Globo as a video operator, the biggest television network in Brazil. He quit his job to do college, graduating in 2009 as a Social Communicator specialized in Digital Video and Television and later in 2011 as a History teacher and researcher. He wrote, directed and produced over 10 short movies during his college years, roughly one per year. In 2009, Leandro and his wife Mayra Vaz created their own research and audiovisual company, Charlotte Producoes. They researched and produced three historical dossiers for the government about intangible heritage. Leandro himself produced and directed two ethnographic documentaries for IPHAN-RJ, the National Institute of Historical and Cultural Heritage. In 2012-2013, the company updated a 1985 folklore book about the region of the state Rio de Janeiro (not only the city). Finally, in 2013, Leandro joined the actor and producer Daniel Archangelo and his wife Tatiana Sobral to develop the web series 'Oposto do Sexo' (Opposite of Sex). They launched new episodes every Monday from September 2nd 2013 to May 25th 2015, ending the series at its 85th webisode, when the actors got pregnant and had to stop the shootings. In January 2015, Leandro started to submit his series with English subtitles to web festivals around the world and got over 25 nominations and official selections. So far, the web series have won 6 awards in Rome and Los Angeles, including Best Comedy and Best Directing. In May, the series was sold to a French Youtube Channel called Rendezvous a Paris, that has over 130k subscribers.
