Russell Vargo

Russell Vargo is a creative professional with more than 7 years of experience specializing in emerging technologies including 360-degree media production and immersive projection experiences. He graduated from Georgetown High School in Central Texas and received a scholarship to the Hilton College at the University of Houston, where he developed project management skills and a taste for creative pursuits. He discovered his passion for photography and artistic pursuits while on a camping trip in the wilderness and deepened his understanding of the arts by studying acting, writing, and directing for four years in Los Angeles before deciding to focus on projects that encourage social awareness. Russell spent four months as a Meaningful Volunteer with Women's Skills Development Organization, which built the School For Andy in Rithepani, Nepal, and has traveled the world capturing stories told through the lens of social building. These experiences led him back to Austin, Texas in 2014, where he was employed by Thrillbox, a virtual reality distribution, and analytics company. Russell joined Crosswater Digital Media as the Immersive Director in 2018, inspired by their work in long-term care, higher education, and emerging technology. Recent projects include Special Olympics: Meet The Determined, The Albert Project, Hollywood Rooftop, Austin City Limits: Backstage, Banfield Pet Hospital, Showtime The Circus, Concert For The Earth, Red Trunk Project, and Playing For Change.
