Christopher Nostrand

Christopher Nostrand is an award-winning filmmaker based out of New York. His love for movie making began at the early age of 14 and has since grown into a full-time career in the film industry. Christopher built his career from the ground up from an amateur hobbyist to an effort driven student and finally a professional filmmaker embodying a focus on story and cerebral craftsmanship. His education includes an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts: Humanities & Social Sciences from SUNY Ulster (2009), a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV Production from SUNY New Paltz (2011) and a Master of Fine Arts in Integrated Media Arts from Hunter College (2016). Christopher currently owns and operates a full-service digital film and video production company Nostrand Productions LLC (nostrandproductions.com). In addition, Christopher teaches part-time as an adjunct professor at SUNY New Paltz's Digital Media & Journalism Department and Marist College's Film, TV, Games & Interactive Media Department. His courses covered are Field Production, TV Studio Production, Audio Production, Digital Storytelling, Lighting & Cinematography and Digital Toolbox. Christopher has won 20 awards in digital filmmaking and video production. His awards include a CINE Golden Eagle Award, five Telly Awards, three Communicator Awards, Best Documentary, Best Documentary Runner-Up and Best Cinematography at CUNY Film Festival, Director's Choice at Black Maria Film and Video Festival, the Terry Roueche Audience Award at Underexposed Film Festival yc, Best Documentary at CUNY Asian American Film Festival, Best Historical Documentary at International Documentary Challenge, Best Documentary at Kingston Film Festival, a Research Symposium Award from CUNY School of Public Health, Best Alternative Film Runner-Up at Nearly Famous Film Festival and Best PSA at Sawyer Film Festival.
