Isabel Pina was born in Coimbra, Portugal. At the age of 6 she already loved watching movies demonstrating a special taste for Hitchcock's works. She studied languages and literature, but still she loved the movies and wanted to study cinema to make them. Since then she has never stopped going to the movies, and her philosophy of life is that "Life is a movie". About her influences she says: "I grow up watching American movies. Classics, epics, adventure, action amongst others. Directed by names like, Stanley Kubrick, Orson Welles, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Alfred Hitchcock, Tim Burton, Ridley Scott, David Lynch, George Lucas and so many others. I can't talk about a favorite movie, because I have many and wouldn't want to forget about any. But I should mention three master pieces, "The Good the Bad and the Ugly" by Sergio Leone, "Lawrence of Arabia" by David Lean and the icon of the Independent Cinema, "Reservoir Dogs" by Quentin Tarantino. I'm also influenced by some European filmmakers like, Fellini, Wim Wenders, Emir Kusturica, Milos Forman and Pedro Almodóvar. I also have to mention the importance of the Asian cinema and particularly Akira Kurosawa and Ang Lee. Basically I love cinema, and as such I'm interested in everything regarding it." She has also sought further training in short courses and workshops about directing, scriptwriting and acting. As an independent Director, Scriptwriter and Producer, she participated in almost 10 music videos, 9 short movies, 2 episodes for a web series, 2 feature movies (one in pre-production, another in post-production) and a TV commercial. She's also a member of an Independent Cinema Organization, and belongs to two independent production companies She works also as an editor (Final Cut Pro, Edius, Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects). As a way of life she considers interesting to quote a Gladiator's line: "What we do in life echoes in eternity."
