Avid writer, vinyl record collector, guitar player, and environmental advocate, Joe began his career in the film industry 10 years ago and is looking forward to the next 10 and beyond. Currently based in Los Angeles where he serves as Director of Rentals at the employee-owned Birns & Sawyer, Inc., Southern California's first motion picture equipment rentals and sales company, Joe originally hails from Washington where he grew up on a farm surrounded by animals and nature. He's proud to call Montana State University his alma mater where he won the Galusha Faculty Award for his thesis film, "Changing Stations", and is equally proud to have assisted the American Society of Cinematographers as they curated their list of "100 Milestone Films in Cinematography of the 20th Century." He has worked on numerous films, commercials, and political campaign spots, and when the time came to make "Collapse!", he wanted to take a fresh approach via the romantic comedy to reach people who don't necessarily think about environmental issues such as the decline of bee populations on a regular basis. Preproductuon took place in the spring and summer of 2020, a tough time indeed, which further drove his ambition to make something positive, light, fun, and made people feel good; not just not the audience but the cast and crew as well. It's a story that could take place in any country, in any language, and is particularly relevant to our generation that says (in a humorous way) we should ALL do everything in our power NOW so that future generations will have a habitable planet to live on after we're gone. He is currently in preproduction of his next film titled, "The Show That Got Me Signed."
