Jay Penrake

Jay's first acting role, age 6, was as Jamie in the moving and eerie short film Mud Boy - which involved hour upon hour of being covered in mud, buried in mud and on the final day climbing on top of a shed. In the last couple of years, he has consistently shown that he is a very natural film actor with a mature sense of timing that makes life very easy for the directors he works with. Eric J Adams, writer/producer of 'Supremacy' with Danny Glover had this to say about The Stray and Jay's latest short film: "Intimate, penetrating and moving, The Stray features standout performances and direction that takes you inside the hearts of two characters bound to each other by their flaws and human goodness." Feedback on his performance as the lead - a boy missing his absent dad - in The Paintbrush, his last short film, has elicited very warm comments from many UK casting directors.
