Joshua K. Ramsey

Joshua Ramsey grew up in the small town of Chester, South Carolina. In his youth he was very active in sports and intelligent student. The son of the county's public library system's director, he spent a great deal of time exploring the stories available on the shelves. He became involved in theatrical productions at a young age, landing the part of Tom Sawyer in the community theater's production of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. At the age of twelve Joshua's family moved to the rural town of New Lebanon, Ohio. The school was too small to fund a theater program but during that time he gained an interest in film production, shooting and editing videos with his friends. After moving back to South Carolina for the last two years of Secondary school he revived his interest in the theater, taking drama classes and performing in a Midsummer Night's Dream. Initially going to college for a theater degree, Joshua became inspired by an introductory film studies course, and switched his major. He obtained his BA in Film Studies from The University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2011, and his senior thesis which he wrote, directed and edited was accepted to screen at the 17th Annual Cucalorus film festival that year. After graduation, Joshua began offering his services as an Editor, VFX artist and Motion Graphic animator; working on numerous web series shorts and commercial projects. In 2013 Joshua began working as a Post Production coordinator in broadcast television. In his spare time, Joshua develops concepts for future projects with his talent for writing. His passion to create has inspired a range of artistic work, and will continue to drive him to seek ever more challenging endeavors in the days ahead.
