Mike's love of performing comes naturally, his parents, Donald W. Askins, a one-time drama and speech teacher as well as radio announcer and amateur actor and Peggy, a career educator who met Don while performing in theatrical productions at Oklahoma Baptist University. Mike began acting and singing as a teenager and got his first radio announcing job while still in high school. A GLEEk, before it was considered cool, Mike's first love is music and has been involved in choral singing and local bands since the 70's. During his radio career, Mike has been called on to do voice-over work for various live theatrical productions, films, documentaries and industrial audio and video projects. Mike also has performed in live theatre, stage productions, local television and videos and now, feature film. The parents of three boys, Mike and his wife, Karen, are involved in Boy Scouting and local charities.
