"Gory" Laurie Welch was born in Teaneck, NJ, and was hungry at birth for blood. She watched her first horror film, "A Nightmare On Elm Street," when she was three and has not stopped since. Laurie obsessively watched Micheal Jackson's "Thiller" music video so much that her mother was concerned she was possessed. While in High School, Laurie wrote, directed, filmed and edited several short films with her classmates and friends. Although none of the films received rewards, she enjoyed the learning experience and had fun making them. Her favorite part about making the films was finding ways to cost-effectively re-create violence and gore. Laurie attempted college a few times, but realized that books and numbers just made her brain swell. She decided to pursue a career in basic life survival. She has since then succeeded and has a family, house, cats and dogs, all of whom are alive and well cared for. Laurie discovered a passion for zombies and charity in recent years, so she decided to merge the two and formed the nonprofit organization, Zombies of Montana. She runs the organization and has events that benefit charities.
