Gabriel Carneiro

Gabriel Carneiro is a journalist, movie maker, film critic and film historian. Founding member of Abraccine (the Brazilian Film Critics Association), Carneiro, nowadays, writes to Revista de Cinema, to the website Cinequanon, to Itaú Cultural's Brazilian Cinema Encyclopedia, and to film catalogs. Among other vehicles in which he has written are the websites of Paisà magazine and of the Canadian magazine Rue Morgue, and also in Revista Zingu!, which he edited. In movie production, Carneiro has been the art director of the short movie "Instantâneo", by Pedro Ribaneto, the researcher for the documentary feature "Ozualdo Candeias e o Cinema". His first short film, as director and writer, is "Morte e Morte de Johnny Zombie" (2011) which attended over 20 film festivals around the world. His newest short film, "Batchan", supported by São Paulo's State Government, will soon be released.
