Benjamin Nissen is a producer and director. Originally from Howell, New Jersey, Benjamin received his BFA in Musical Theatre from Pennsylvania State University, under the mentorship John Simpkins and Susan H. Schulman. Benjamin is currently working on Junkyard Dog Productions' Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away. As an associate programming producer at Feinstein's/54 Below, Benjamin has worked on various concerts including Lennon: Original Cast Reunion (dir. Don Scardino), Memphis: Original Cast Reunion (dir. Robert W. Schneider), Calamity Jane (dir. Eric Woodall), Baby (dir. Richard Maltby, Jr.), and Kander and Ebb's The Happy Time (dir. Michael Rupert). In August 2018, Benjamin is currently producing 54 Sings P!NK as a benefit for the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative. As a director, Benjamin's work has been seen in New York and in regional theaters throughout the United States. Recent directing credits include Gruesome Playground Injuries, Forward Motion, and Just One Night. Recent associate & assistant credits include Hot 'n' Cole (dir. John Simpkins, Sarasota Opera House), Monty Python's Spamalot & Rock of Ages (dir. Robert W. Schneider, Millbrook Playhouse), and the world premiere of Joe Iconis' Love in Hate Nation (dir. John Simpkins). Benjamin is a proud Associate Member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
