Rob Hahn

For over 20 years, Rob has coached actors and business executives in dialect work, accent modification, breathing coordination, voice training and vocal rejuvenation. Rob also provides vocal and dialect support to film, TV or theatrical productions. As the founder of Hollywood Dialect Coach, Rob has also coached actors on more than 40 dialects and accents as he prepares them for auditions and for the stage and screen. He creates an individualized approach and plan to empower the actor to take ownership of his/her/their process. With his background in MDH Breathing Coordination, Rob coaches actors, singers and non-actors on maximizing vocal efficiency with minimum output. This work yields greater vocal dimension, along with dynamic stability for screaming, belting, hitting high notes, maintaining an emotional connection, and increasing vocal stamina. This work has also been employed to assist Olympic and high-level athletes as well as people with vocal pathologies (from asthma to nodules to COPD). Rob is 1 of 3 people in the US with a Level 2 certification (and 1 of 22 people worldwide). Rob teaches at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood, where he has taught voice and speech, dialects, accent reduction for over 15 years. There, he has coached hundreds of actors in over 75 productions, from Shakespeare to Molière to Mamet. Rob earned a BFA from Webster University's Conservatory of Theatre Arts in St. Louis, where he also performed on the Main Stage of The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. He received his MFA from California State University, Fullerton. Rob also speaks conversational Spanish and continues to train in Russian.
