Matt Schembri

Born in Sydney and raised on the Gold Coast, Matt has shown interest in the arts from a young age. He wrote and directed skits for he and his friends to perform during school assemblies when he was 8. He began animating at 11 and has been working as an animator since age 15. He attended the International Film College at 18, leading to VFX roles in the industry. Matt launched Futureport in 2016, an online distribution service, and in 2018 he secured private investments to open HAUL MEDIA, an independent production house in QLD, Australia. He produced 15 music videos over 5 years before shifting his focus to feature production. His first feature as a Director was shot in 2020 at age 27.
