Eddie Williams III is winner of two Peabody Awards (the broadcast industry's highest honor), a DuPont Award, Emmy winner, and five-time Emmy nominee. He is a 25-year news veteran of print, broadcast and film mediums. The career of the award-winning journalist includes stints with Newsweek, NBC, Fox, CNN and Al Jazeera America. He now operates his own documentary production company, Third Time Productions. Williams was Producer of the documentary film America The Beautiful 2: The Thin Commandments, the brainchild of Executive Producer Darryl Roberts, distributed by Time Warner Digital. He was also Producer and Director of the Al Jazeera English documentary "Al Jazeera Correspondent: Educating Black Males", 2012. Williams is also a former national board member of The Ida B. Wells Foundation, an organization founded to honor efforts to hire minorities in media jobs. Broadcast experience includes stops in New York, New Orleans, Kansas City, Topeka, Chicago, Atlanta and Lake Charles, Louisiana where Williams' worked as executive producer, producer, segment producer, reporter, news and sports anchor, photographer, editor and assignments editor. In the print field, Williams worked as managing editor, government reporter, general assignment reporter, editorial writer, and copy editor for a Louisiana bi-weekly and a daily publication. Among the honors Williams has received: Peabody, 2008 Election Coverage, CNN, 2008; Atlanta Association of Black Journalists, Pioneer Award, (2) Best Hard Feature, Best Soft Feature, 2007; Peabody, Hurricane Katrina coverage, CNN, 2005; DuPont Columbia Award, CNN, Tsunami coverage; Emmy, September 11th Coverage, CNN, 2001; Five-time Emmy nominee for news producing, WXIA and WAGA in Atlanta, 1996-2000; Best Investigative Reporting, winner, 2nd place, Louisiana Associated Press, KPLC TV, 1989; Best Investigative Reporting, winner, Honorable Mention, Louisiana Associated Press, KPLC, 1988; Best Feature Writing, winner, 1st place, Press Club of New Orleans, The Spectator 1983; Intern, Newsweek Magazine, Summer Reporter 1979. Williams attended the University of Kansas, William Allen White School of Journalism, Lawrence, Kansas. He is a native of Kansas City, Missouri, and the father of four children. Williams lives in New York City.
